Did You Know? While Chuck Mangione is largely unknown by many of today's record buying public, his run of albums throughout the 70's and into the 80's resulted in two Grammy awards, 12 Grammy nominations, one platinum album and four gold albums. Not bad for a jazz/pop instrumental musician!

Herb & Lani U.K. Release   For Herb & Lani fans in the United Kingdom, THE ESSENTIAL HERB ALPERT 2CD will be released on September 13th. It will contain ANYTHING GOES and DEFINITIVE HITS.

BBC TV Herb Alpert Doc Debut on Sept. 17th   A BBC TV documentary about Herb Alpert, is scheduled be broadcast September 17th on British TV, BBC-4. Shooting took place in Los Angeles in February. They recorded Herb, Lani & the Band at Vibrato. Besides interviews with Herb & Lani, participants are: Quincy Jones, Richard Carpenter, Sergio Mendes, Jam & Lewis, Lou Adler, Dave Alpert, Jerry Moss, Sting, Randy "Badazz" Alpert and special TJB guests, Bob Edmondson, John Pisano & Pat Senatore.

New Sergio Mendes CDs Are Out   BOM TEMPO is the new Sergio CD, which will have an advance release in Japan and a bonus track. The U.S. release came out June 1st along with the Remixed version of the album - from Concord.
